The Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) transited from College to university through a proclamation on 16 July 2006 and consequently notified in the gazette on 7 August 2006. At its inception the engineering division started with two electricians-cum-pump operators and a plumber owned through ancestral resources of the then college.
The university in its organogram bears the provision of total twenty manpower for the engineering division out of which seven are engineers and the rest are staffs. On July 1, 2008 a Superintending Engineer got appointment who has been bestowed the charge of Chief Engineer on January 1, 2009. The recruitment process of engineers and other staffs are under way. The recruitment of these individuals is dependant on future projection of the infrastructural development activities.
To create educational and research facilities, infrastructure development is a pre-requirement. The willful intention and erg of the university to introduce globally through information technology requires strategic excellence by providing beautiful campus, academic and administrative buildings, laboratory facilities, healthy halls for national and international students etc. The engineering division is trying utmost to invoke these requirements.

Existing Infrastructural Facilities:

Land Area: At present the university is situated on 7.00 acres of land. The government is keen to provide further lands to the university. The future projected land area of the university will be about 25 acres within few years. The following table shows the provision of existing infrastructural facilities.

Future Projection:

Under the “Development of Public Universities” project some new facilities regarding physical structures will be created during 2009 to 2012. There is a provision to acquire 15 acres of land, upon acquisition of this land, scarcity of feasible area for the university will be lessen at a stack. Further accommodation for the students, class rooms, laboratories, demonstration firms, residential buildings etc. will be created very soon. The laboratory equipments, transports etc. will be procured at an early stage of the project period. The IT facilities will be extended to the students, teachers and officers to connect all respective individuals in a global home.
