The Vice Chancellor is the whole time Chief Executive and academic officer of the University and shall be Chairman of the Syndicate, Academic Council, Committee for Advanced Studies & Research, Finance Committee, and Planning & Development Committee. Vice Chancellor convenes meetings of the Syndicate, Academic Council, Finance Committee and Planning & Development Committee and presides over them. He approves all kinds of academic and administrative decisions. So, the office of the Vice Chancellor of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) acts as the central focal point of the University.

The office of Vice Chancellor also coordinates with various offices and organizations so that Vice Chancellor can attend and inspire various programmes and occasions like, seminar workshop, sports competitions, cultural programmes, national days etc. Its also public relations cell coordinates with print and electronic media regarding various issues of the university. The activities of this office are being run with a team headed by the PS to VC under the guidance and advice of the Vice Chancellor.
