Director (Veterinary Clinic)
Veterinary teaching hospital/clinic is considered all over the world as the church of Veterinary Education and Research. All those considering veterinary career are strongly advised to learn the techniques, arts and science of veterinary practice after completion of the preclinical part of the course occupies the first two years.
Veterinary Teaching Hospital of CVASU is the only seat of clinical learning of veterinary practices under close supervision of the concerned teaching staff members of the clinical departments. It is a busy clinic providing a veterinary service for the farm, companion animals, horses, poultry etc. It has been built for the diagnosis, treatment and hospitalization of cases. During the intern period 10-15 student a week are allocated to the practice at the clinic under close supervision of clinicians.
The name of this teaching veterinary hospital is "Shahedul Alam Quadary Teaching veterinary Hospital (SAQTVH). It is operated by the Director of Veterinary Clinics with the help of other clinical departments particularly by the department of Medicine and Surgery.
Our Units
SAQTVH is composed of the different units. They are as follows:
Large Animal Unit : Diagnosis and treatment for cattle, horse, sheep, goat and other large animals.
Small Animal Unit : Diagnosis and treatment for pet animals like dog, cat etc.
Poultry & Avian Unit : Diagnosis of different poultry and avian diseases through post mortem and their treatment.
Obstetrics & Gynecology Unit : Treatment of obstetrical and gynecological problems and Artificial insemination of goat.
Surgery Unit (OT) : Major & complex surgical operations of different small and large animals.
Centralized Lab (Diagnosis Unit) : X-ray, ultrasonography, endoscopy, ECG, C/S test, Titer test etc to diagnose a disease properly.
Consultancy Unit : To set up project for establishment of an agricultural (both dairy & poultry) farm.
Satellite & Ambulatory Unit : To give treatment three days in a week by ambulatory unit in Chittagong & beside the thana of the city.
