Subrata received his Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Master of Science in Fisheries Technology from the country's leading Agricultural University; Bangladesh Agricultural University.
In his professional career, he joined as a Lecturer at the Department of Fishing and Post-Harvest Technology in Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in April 2015 and upgraded to Assistant Professor in July 2017. He also served as the Head of the department. Currently, he is on study leave to pursue his Doctoral study at The University of Tokyo with the prestigious Japanese Government Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship. He is working on the fish microbiome aiming to explore the metabolic potential of the gut microflora and uncover the functional variation with host-associated factors.
